this would be amazing. We've done some hacky stuff using the stage view and screen capture to get lyrics to OBS but that would be amazing. Even if it's currently out of my skillset

At our church we type the book and the chapter into the search feild and then we click on the specific verse in the right panel. This allows us to easily be able to switch between verse: jumping back and going to the next verse. Hope that helps. Nice to hear that it's going to have a better workflow in version 2.0

The first method you showed is actually how we do it at our church. Regarding your test: If you have multiple verse 1 then the second time you click the 1 shortcut it will jump to the 2nd instants of verse 1 then the 3rd instant of verse 1. This method make sense for us but I could see how a new slide tag could help too.

I would be intrested in know what you find to be too complicated? Personally I like the VideoPsalms method. I only quickly tested OpenLp for a few hours probably 10 years ago at this point so I'm not sure what the workflow was like over there but I would like to hear

Yes I'm pretty certain max characters would solve this issue for you

also maybe we can make it so max character rounds down the the nearest word. We ran into problems where the slide cut in the middle of the word. Honestly this might not be problem for us too much longer as we are trying to get another large screen.

You make a great point. It would be nice if there was a character that allowed for line breaks when it was too long but not when it could fit. I'm not sure what symbol that could be but maybe a tilda "~" or some lesser known symbol. I think that might resolve the issue but I could be wrong.

Great idea! Currently we use a template angenda. We have a song book that we colored black which is just for Section Title. That song book has song like [ [ Intro ] ], [ [ Welcome ] ], [ [ Ending ] ] so when we look in our agenda we have very clear sections marked out. I made an example graphic below.

Like the dev mentioned, we sometimes use an announcement songbook. That being said, often diffrent departments in the church have graphics they want us to show with their annoucements so we instead use the Add > New Slideshow Image to quickly add all the graphics

We done something like this by using the stage view and chroma keying or cropping the background out. We also use it to show lower thrid lyrics. The text can only be one size, but it works for us

Thank you! - This works and we previously thought about doing it this way too - but we don't like to make changes on the verse / text level because it limits you in the future. For example we change our background image monthly / seasonly. For winter, having white text might not work with our winter backgrounds. Using your method you would have to manually update every line in every songbook if you needed to make a change like that. We like having the ability to change the font, size, color, number of lines etc based on how our graphical theme for that week looks. Thank you for sharing

Recently, we've been trying a different approach. We're utilizing VideoPsalm's "Stage View Display" feature, which creates a separate window and shows the same text as seen on the main screen. The key difference is that this secondary window has a solid color background. This allows us to enhance our live stream by using this new window in OBS Studio, enabling us to seamlessly integrate lower thirds into our broadcasts. Moreover, this setup opens up the possibility of utilizing OBS's chroma key feature to superimpose transparent text onto our live footage for added visual appeal. To ensure readability, we limit the text on screen to just two lines at any given moment. This arrangement allows us to present the lyrics as a lower third graphic. The picture below shows what it would look like. Currently, we use a transparent black box around the text to enhance readability. However, we are actively searching for a more suitable font that would enable us to use transparent text without the need for the background box.

I think you can also right-click a Bible verse in the Agenda and click 'Make {Bible Verse} editable in the new songbook 'Bible verses." In this demo, I only added Gen 1:1-5 but you could do the whole chapter. This should show all the verses in the middle panel.

For some reason I can't recreate the issue today, but trust me it normally happens a lot. I'm not complaining. I've been running 1.27 since it was first released. I normally have the editor open on screen 3 and the presentation on screen 2. Not sure why today it's not happening, maybe a Windows update fixed it?
